Learning Journey in Kenya – Registration NOW OPEN

Routes to Resilience is thrilled to be partnering with the Safari Collection to offer its first deep learning journey in Kenya’s Northern Frontier District.

Routes to Resilience is thrilled to be partnering with the Safari Collection to offer its first deep learning journey in Kenya’s Northern Frontier District.  Taking place from 6 – 12 April, this intensive introduction to developing sustainability intelligence makes use of the incredible power of place that the Safari Collection’s Sasaab Luxury Lodge offers.

Embedded in the rich natural diversity of the region, Sasaab and the social and environmental ecosystem surrounding it offers a perfect context within which to witness and experience the principles of sustainability, complexity theory and systems thinking and forms the foundation for the deep learning process that you will undergo.

You can expect to participate in a range of activities including a walk through deep time, interactive seminars with thought leaders in the field, excursions to organisations working at the interface of carnivores and people such as the Ewaso Lions or those working in biodiversity and habitat restoration such as the Grevy’s Zebra Trust.  Nature walks, game drives and night time observation will all form part of your experience.

A Routes to Resilience Learning Journey is an ideal programme for students pursuing the Duke of Edinburgh/President’s Award at Silver Level who are interested in completing their Adventurous Journey and following it with skills development and mentored service action programmes. Throughout this Kenyan programme, you will engage with experts in complexity theory and sustainability, the circular economy and how you can effect change through personal social action in your school or community.

This is a unique opportunity for students at GCSE, A Level or in the IB DP or MYP programmes to immerse yourself in an exciting and innovative learning journey that will expose you to new ways of understanding the environment, economy and society, and leave you with a valuable certificate from the Impact Trust in collaboration with the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, South Africa and lets you enjoy six nights of luxury accommodation with all meals and refreshments included.

Registration for this programme is NOW OPEN. To apply, email info@routes2reslience.org. Places are limited.
