We were so inspired after spending time with 40 high school students from schools across Cape Town.
In partnership with SAILI we presented a four hour workshop that examined issues in learners’ communities and linked them to the Sustainable Development Goals and how every learner can make a BIG difference in their community – a taster of our Immersion Programmes that are held at Grootbos near Hermanus in the Western Cape.
Thank you to Ikamva Youth for hosting us at Ikamva Youth Centre in Salt River, to Kath Morse of SAILI for organising and to the enthusiastic learners who attended and give hope for the future.
If you would like to run a 3- 5-hour ‘taster’ workshop on sustainable intelligence at your school or organisation in the Cape Town area please contact Cheryl Douglas cheryl@routes2resilience.org and we can tailor a session to your needs. Donations to the cost of running these workshops will go to our youth development courses
Routes to Resilience is a collaborative programme focused on developing the sustainability intelligence and 21st Century skills, knowledge and strategies to build the entrepreneurship ability of 16 – 25-year-olds.
It starts with an immersive learning journey which is focused on giving youth an understanding of the system pressures and new economic and business models that will drive sustainable livelihoods.
Routes to Resilience is a project of the Impact Trust, working with a consortium of partners in youth education and development, and in collaboration with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, South Africa.
Through workshops, online and face to face mentoring and facilitation we build the capacity of educators and trainers to integrate the principles of sustainability into their existing programmes and ensures that youth will develop the knowledge and skills to engage in work that is future-fit and promotes sustainability.
